5 Smart Tips to Make the Most of Equine Affaire® Massachusetts

Equine Affaire in Massachusetts (November 6–9 at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield) is one of the biggest equestrian gatherings in the Northeast. With clinics, demos, shopping, and performances happening all at once, a little planning goes a long way. Here are five tips to help you make the most of your trip.

1. Plan Your Day Before You Go

The schedule is packed. Before you arrive, browse the clinic and demo schedule and choose a few “must-see” sessions. Then build in time for shopping, breaks, and wandering. If you’re attending multiple days, give each day a focus to avoid overwhelm.

2. Dress for Comfort and Movement

Expect to walk—a lot. Wear supportive shoes and dress in layers since the Better Living Center and other buildings can vary in temperature. A lightweight backpack or tote is perfect for carrying purchases and brochures without juggling bags. Planning on major shopping? Bring a wheeled cart to carry all your packages.

3. Shopping Tip: Come See BOTORI at Booth 610

The trade show is one of the highlights of Equine Affaire, and you’ll definitely want to explore it. For the fifth year in a row, BOTORI will be at Booth 610 in the Better Living Center, featuring special show-only deals, including an early bird special: $75 riding tights while supplies last.

Pro tip: If you love a particular print or fit, grab it early in the day for best size availability!

4. Pace Yourself (and Make Time for Fun Features)

There’s so much to take in! From the breed demonstrations and educational sessions to the evening Fantasia performance. To avoid “event burnout,” pause to sit, enjoy a clinic from start to finish, or snack and people-watch. You’ll absorb more and enjoy the atmosphere instead of rushing through it.

5. Take Notes & Snap Photos of Your Favorites

When you see something you love, whether it’s a tack innovation, a rider’s tip, or a clothing fit that feels perfect, take a quick photo or note it in your phone. It’s surprisingly easy to forget booth numbers and brand names after a few hours of browsing. Keeping a list makes it easier to circle back before you leave.

We can’t wait to see you at Booth 610 in the Better Living Center.
Stop by, say hello, try on your favorite riding pieces, and snag those $75 early bird tights!

See you at Equine Affaire!
