Equestrian Riding Tights vs. Breeches: A Guide to Choosing the Best Riding Pants
When it comes to choosing between riding tights and breeches, it’s not just about what looks good—it’s about how you ride, what feels best, and the impression you want to make. Tights bring comfort, stretch, and ease for everyday rides or hot summer days, while breeches deliver polish, durability, and performance for the show ring or more formal settings.
Knowing the differences helps you step into the saddle with confidence—whether it’s a relaxed hack or your next big competition.
You can’t go wrong with these tights, the mesh details on the pockets and ankles are the perfect touch, and the sheen to the fabric makes them look nice even when not at the barn. I only wish they had a gusset! But this is my 4th pair of Taylor’s so not that big of an issue :)
Wore these today for the first time. Under my summer Kerrits' ice fil tights. Worked really well, not too tight, kept me warm, not too warm. Looking forward to wearing them under my winter tights. Later on had to unexpectedly visit a commercial location, no time to change. Peeled off the summer tights and used these, looked sleek and appropriate.
This is such a high quality shirt. It is clear that PJ thought about all the different aspects of the design and made it equally functional and fashionable. I got an XS- and it was true to size ! Highly recommend !
The Riley Tech Top is my new favorite go to in the saddle and I have it in both the Blush and Moss. I love the style, fit and the material is so soft and comfortable. It is perfect on it’s own during the Summer and as a layer as the weather cools!
